Wellstart Medical was founded in 2019 to improve diabetes care. Wellstart is a direct to consumer provider of continuous glucose monitors, insulin pump supplies, and other diabetes testing supply products. The Company provides patients with education, support, and access to a fast, simple, and reliable way to obtain diabetes supplies on a recurring basis.
Position:
An opportunity to join a fast-growing organization, Wellstart is seeking a Documentation Specialist to execute and build on streamlined processes to gather documentation from referrals sources and other health care professionals in order to complete the fulfillment and reimbursement of diabetes supplies that are provided to covered members by the Company.
Responsibilities:
- Obtain clinical documentation from health care professionals and/or physician offices to ship and bill for diabetes supplies, including continuous glucose monitors (CGM) and insulin pumps.
- Review clinical documentation for accuracy, understand specific requirements for order fulfillment based on individual insurance plans guidelines, and determine if qualifications necessary to meet coverage criteria have been met.
- Establish close relationships with healthcare professionals to ensure successful return of documentation, including written orders, medical records, and any other supporting documentation.
- Mange any government and commercial payor audits and records requests.
- Adapt quickly and positively to frequent compliance, industry, and process changes.
- Work with all departments and staff through any related compliance initiatives.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and function within the guidelines of HIPAA.

Experience:
- 1 to 5 years of relevant experience working with a durable medical equipment (DME) supplier or at a physician’s office/clinic in a similar role with an understanding of document workflow.
- The candidate should have excellent oral and written communication skills.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $25.00 per hour
