Job Description
Position: Coordinator of Interpreter Services
Reports To: President or Director of Language Services
General Description –
The Coordinator of Interpreter services is considered a crucial role in the overall success of our business. They are responsible for 100% accuracy of appointment data including client, requestor, location, patient name and ID (or case number), gender or interpreter preferences, on-site contact information and any appointment details that are essential for the guaranteed success of the field interpreter. This position is responsible for managing the medical, legal and social work interpreting services which delivers services to Limited/Non-English proficient patients and families while ensuring compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements. Coordination of appointments is the key to ensure smooth daily operations. Some other work is required such as recruiting, translation projects, and compliance audits.
Specific Responsibilities –
1. Performs day to day administrative functions and general office duties including but not limited to word processing, electronically filing of requests in appropriate client folder, importing and exporting documents to create pdf files, faxing, answering phones and data entry.
2. Ensure all client requests have received a written confirmation via e-mail or telephone response.
3. Appointment information should be inputted in the scheduling system while keeping in mind if the appointment is a new request, or if an existing booking should be updated with new information.
4. All appointment details should be included referencing the office client bible.
5. Offer jobs to interpreters depending on qualifications required, availability, job location and hourly rate of interpreter.
6. Ensure all appointments have been scheduled with confirmation from interpreters.
7. Set-up new client accounts or interpreter accounts as needed.
8. Research and post creative postings in relation to foreign languages and interpreting on Facebook and Linkedin.
9. Connect with organizations that may use interpreting services via LinkedIn.
10. Performs other duties as assigned.
