Medical Librarian (MLS) provides guidance and assistance to users researching medical information using database searches, inter-library loans, and other resources. Ensures the cataloging and circulation of materials are performed efficiently and correctly according to policies and standards. Being a Medical Librarian (MLS) creates training materials and delivers library instruction and education programs for physicians and other staff. Leads or contributes ideas for library strategic planning, quality initiatives, and the development of digital media and educational resources. Additionally, Medical Librarian (MLS) maintains current knowledge of medical developments and scientific literature. Requires a master's degree in library science. Typically reports to a manager. The Medical Librarian (MLS) occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.       Description: MSAD #11 is currently seeking a team oriented, energetic, and creative educator to join the Gardiner Area High School teaching staff as a Librarian. The GAHS Library Commons is a welcoming, inclusive, and dynamic space for students and staff. The librarian ensures that students and staff have an enriched library environment containing a wide variety and range of materials that will invite intellectual growth and aid all students in acquiring the skills needed to take full advantage of the library resources. The school's librarian will work closely with faculty as a collaborative partner to co-plan and co-teach, in some cases, across content areas. Through the partnership, the librarian will support staff by curating resources from databases, museums, and the Library of Congress to strengthen learning and support students' skill development.

      Additional Information: The successful candidate has the ability to Assist students and staff in selecting appropriate resources and access and evaluate intellectual content; Maintains awareness of evolving technology to anticipate the needs of the educational community; and maintains an efficient system of classifying, cataloging, and circulating all library materials to ensure equity of access.
