Logistics Specialist

Impact XM develops solutions for virtual and live events. We are looking for a Logistics Specialist to join our team. Supervises, coordinates and performs activities engaged in verifying and keeping records of incoming and outgoing shipments and preparing items for shipment and warehousing by performing the following duties.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Studies shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedules.
• Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
• Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
• Oversees incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.
• Determines space requirements and position of shipment in trucks and lays out position of shipment.
• Inspects loading operations to ensure compliance with shipping specifications, and seals truck doors.
• Proficient in operating both stand up and sit-down forklifts.
• Inspects material handling equipment for defects and notifies maintenance personnel or contacts outside service facility for repair.
• Maintains accurate storage inventories and ensures accurate information for billing to clients.
• Directs movement of shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage and work areas.
• Posts weight and shipping charges.
• Prepares bills of lading.
• Establishes operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current.
• Oversees the maintenance of forklifts and storage racks which includes negotiating service agreements, conducting product research and recommending new equipment purchases.
• Responsible for maintenance use of trash compactor.
• Issues written and oral instructions.
• Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency.
• Maintains harmony among workers and resolves grievances.
• Prepares composite reports from individual reports of subordinates.
• Adjusts errors and complaints.

• Exhibit the ability to multi-task and operate under severe time constraints and immovable deadlines. Good organization, detail and follow-up skills are required.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include ability to adjust focus.
