POSITION SUMMARY - FULL TIME POSITION

The Medical Scribe/Medical Assistant is responsible for transcribing information from the Therapist into the EHR and is responsible for tasks such as scheduling appointments, completing the patient intake process and other administrative activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Transcribe visit information as dictated into the EHR
• Answers and triages phone calls in a friendly and efficient manner
• Schedules patients
• Greets patients
• Assists patients through the appointment check-in process and collect copays as needed
• Completes patient intake paperwork for all patients
• Prepares new patient charts
• Performs other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)

***medical terminology/medical office experience preferred***

• High School Diploma or GED
• Three years of related experience or relevant course work
• Able to exchange non-routine information using tact and persuasion as appropriate
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Must have strong customer support orientation (for internal/external customers), demonstrate professional demeanor, and the ability to maintain confidential information
• Strong computer and internet skills including all MS Office suite required
