Medical Secretary - Home Care jobs in New Iberia, LA

Patient Account Representative needed for an expanding Home Infusion company. Full time position, 40 hours/week. Competitive Pay and Benefits.

Applicant must be proficient in the following areas, with at least two years of experience or secondary education:

• Medicare Collections
• Medicaid (including Bayou Health Plans) Collections
• Private Insurance Collections
• Worker’s Compensation Collections
• Excel and Word

Applicant must also have excellent communication and math skills, be a self-starter, be able to multitask and meet goals and deadlines. Previous Home Infusion or Home Health experience a plus.

Job Description:

Follow up on all insurance claims billed within 35 days of billing and every 4-21 days thereafter until paid in full. Post payments. Calculate, transfer and bill secondary insurance or patient balances. Resolve insurance denials and underpayments. Prepare appeals and corrected claims as needed. Balance cash posted with cash deposits at month end.
