Medical Staff Credentialing Manager jobs in District of Columbia

Medical Staff Credentialing Manager manages staff that process credentialing and recredentialing applications for health care providers. Oversees department operations to ensure compliance with all regulatory standards. Being a Medical Staff Credentialing Manager implements policies and procedures to ensure that applications are properly verified and accurately uploaded into an online credentialing database system. Analyzes reports on applications and credentialing status to identify trends and improve the credentialing process. Additionally, Medical Staff Credentialing Manager prepares files for the credentialing committee and may act as a liaison to state medical licensure boards regarding the status of license applications. Requires a bachelor's degree. May require Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS). Typically reports to a director. The Medical Staff Credentialing Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Medical Staff Credentialing Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Provider and Payer Credentialing Manager

    Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), the Provider and Payer Credentialing Manager monitors the credential status of licensed and certified employees and contractors of Prestige Healthcare Resources (PHRI)and ensure they are operating within the scope of their licenses and certifications. The Provider and Payer Credentialing Manager also works with MCOs and insurances connected with PHRI to complete the process of empaneling credentialed and certified providers. 

     

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Maintain individual provider files to include up to date information needed to complete the required governmental and commercial payer credentialing applications.
    • Process initial credentialing and re-credentialing applications.
    • Screen provider applications and supporting documentation to ascertain their eligibility.
    • Implement policies and procedures to ensure that applications are properly verified and accurate.
    • Partner with the HR department in onboarding and exiting credentialed employees in a timely manner.
    • Matches required credentials to payer requirements.
    • Works closely with Prestige leadership in the payer credentialing process to ensure adherence to contract terms and conditions.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business. At least 10 years of experience in credentialing may be considered as a substitution.
    • Highly organized and detail oriented.
    • Demonstrated experience in behavioral health credentialing.
    • Demonstrated experience in payer credentialing highly preferred.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Experience with and comfort in developing a paperless credentialing system.
    • Works well with highly confidential and sensitive material.
      • Builds positive relationships with employees and leadership through influence and thought partnership.
      • Analytical thinker, self-motivated.
