Medical Staff Credentialing Specialist jobs in Rochester, NY

We are seeking a dynamic Medical Credentialing Specialist to oversee all facets of healthcare credentialing, facilitating the seamless integration of healthcare professionals into our organization. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in supporting service delivery by guiding healthcare professionals through the onboarding process and managing various administrative responsibilities. Role & Responsibilities:

• Coordinate the credentialing process for healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, therapists, and other allied health professionals.
• Review credentialing and associated documentation to ensure completeness, accuracy and validity.
• Verify the authenticity of licenses, certifications, education, training, and other credentials through primary source verification methods.
• Communicate with healthcare professionals and external organizations to obtain missing or additional information as needed.
• Maintain detailed records of credentialing activities, including application status, expiration dates, and renewal requirements.
• Monitor and track credentialing deadlines to ensure timely renewals and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with internal departments, such as Service and Operations, to ensure alignment with organizational policies and procedures.
• Stay informed about changes in regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and industry best practices related to credentialing.
• Provide support during audits, inspections, and accreditation surveys related to credentialing processes.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

• HS Diploma required, 2 year college degree preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in credentialing, preferably in a healthcare setting.
• 2 years of experience with Onboarding new hires strongly preferred
• Knowledge of credentialing standards, regulations, and accreditation requirements (e.g., NCQA, Joint Commission).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Authorized to Work in the United States
• Daily Reliable Transportation

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
