Meeting/Event Assistant plans and organizes live or virtual meetings and events for an organization or external clients. Implements an event strategy to achieve objectives. Being a Meeting/Event Assistant researches and recommends event venues. Coordinates meeting logistics, including attendee registration, transportation, accommodations, meals, and technology. Additionally, Meeting/Event Assistant conducts rehearsals and system checks of all equipment and connectivity. Establishes relationships with vendors for event support services. Coordinates budget planning and ensures that events stay within cost projections. May assist more senior event planners in planning larger or more complex events. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Meeting/Event Assistant work is closely managed. This position is the support for the General Manager.
This position will be required to have a basic understanding of all GM responsibilities and the ability to carry out those tasks in the absence of the GM. We are looking for self-motivated individuals with the natural ability to lead. This position can and will allow for growth in responsibility thereby leading to significant pay increases. Your starting pay will be based on your experience, however, our starting pay is higher than the average.
Requirements for this position:
You must be able to sufficiently work all positions in the kitchen. Must be able to lead the kitchen and step in where needed during high volume hours.
Must be able to resolve customer issues insuring their return.
Excellent customer service skills a must. Candidate must have a thorough understanding of safe food handling and requirements of health department policies. Ability to stand for up to 8 hours, lift up to 50 pounds, and maintain composure in a fast-paced customer-centric operation is also a must. Must also maintain a neat and professional appearance.
