Meeting/Event Director directs the overall planning and strategy for live or virtual meetings and events for an organization. Defines the goals, success metrics, and messaging for events. Being a Meeting/Event Director implements best practices and develops planning standards, policies. and procedures. Additionally, Meeting/Event Director develops a network of vendors. Approves the final selection of venues, catering, technology, and other event support services. Reviews and approves contracts and has overall responsibility for ensuring events stay within budget. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Meeting/Event Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Meeting/Event Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. Reporting to the Director of Advancement Services, the Associate Director or Director of Stewardship is responsible for all stewardship activities, programs, and initiatives directed at the College’s donors and top prospects. The Associate Director or Director should utilize best practices and take a proactive approach to assess the College’s current stewardship processes, then develop, plan, and implement new stewardship strategies to recognize current donors and cultivate major gift prospects to support the College in meeting its goals.
The Associate Director or Director is responsible for designing, implementing and integrating a comprehensive stewardship program that promotes engagement and connection with donors and top prospects. The Associate Director or Director will support the communication of both the value and impact of each donor's investment toward the College in meaningful ways.
