Meeting/Event Director directs the overall planning and strategy for live or virtual meetings and events for an organization. Defines the goals, success metrics, and messaging for events. Being a Meeting/Event Director implements best practices and develops planning standards, policies. and procedures. Additionally, Meeting/Event Director develops a network of vendors. Approves the final selection of venues, catering, technology, and other event support services. Reviews and approves contracts and has overall responsibility for ensuring events stay within budget. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Meeting/Event Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget.     Job Description

    This position serves as a departmental analyst for the licensing and regulatory processes for the Technology and Breakthrough Development section in the Bureau of Professional Licensing. This position will be responsible for assisting bureau staff with the coordination of technological processes, troubleshooting IT related issues, developing reports, process mapping, staff training, and other special projects related to MiPLUS. This position serves as a backup liaison for Outlook, Egress, MWBC, and other systems and databases used by the Bureau.

    Education for Departmental Analyst 9-P11
    Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.

    One year of professional experience.

    Two years of professional experience, including one year of experience equivalent to the intermediate (10) level in state service.

    Experience

    Four years of experience as an advanced 9-level worker in an ECP Group One classification.

    OR

    Three years of experience as an E9, E10, or E11-level worker in an ECP Group One classification.

    OR

    Two years of experience as an experienced level worker in an ECP Group One technician or paraprofessional classification.

    OR

    Two years of experience as a first-line supervisor in an ECP Group Three classification.

    OR

    One year of experience as a second-line supervisor in an ECP Group Three classification.

    • Paraprofessional classifications are those requiring an associate's degree or two years of college.

    Educational Substitution
    College credits may be substituted on a proportional basis (one year of college education may substitute for one quarter of the required experience) for up to one half of the required experience.

    Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school and the equivalent of at least two years of full-time active-duty experience at or above the E-6 level in the uniformed services may be substituted for the education requirement.

    Vacation and Sick Leave: Eligible full-time employees receive between 15 and 35 personal days and 13 sick days per year that may be rolled over to the following year if not used. Eligible employees also receive an additional day each year for community service or school functions.

    Paid Parental Leave: Eligible employees can take 12 weeks of paid leave immediately after a birth or adoption to allow needed time together at home with a new child.

    Paid Holidays: Eligible employees receive 13 or 14 paid holidays each year including New Year’s Eve and Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents’ Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, the Fourth of July, Labor Day, Election Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving Friday, Christmas Eve and Day.
