Meeting/Event Director directs the overall planning and strategy for live or virtual meetings and events for an organization. Defines the goals, success metrics, and messaging for events. Being a Meeting/Event Director implements best practices and develops planning standards, policies. and procedures. Additionally, Meeting/Event Director develops a network of vendors. Approves the final selection of venues, catering, technology, and other event support services. Reviews and approves contracts and has overall responsibility for ensuring events stay within budget. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Meeting/Event Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Meeting/Event Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     Job Summary
    The Maternal, Child & Family Health Program Manager will have administrative and programmatic responsibilities for implementing all programmatic activities which include but are not limited to recruitment and retention of post-doctoral student into the program, dissemination of stipends for graduate and undergraduate students, collection of necessary data to ensure compliance with program objectives and goals, drafting formative and summative reports of programmatic activities to the Pl.

    Essential Job Duties
    • Ensure effective operation of the project through management of daily operations, oversight of budget and management of support contracts/contractors
    • Engage with key stakeholders to support their involvement with Center and its community engagement and other activities.
    • Assist with the recruitment, hiring, and retention processes for staff.
    • Manage and maintain the overall project schedule including regular status updates, identification of risks and mitigation strategies.
    • Manage the budget and financial processes for the project. Ensure budget limits are adhered to and any adjustments are made and properly approved.
    • Ensure that all internal and external budget and financial reporting requirements are met in accordance with monthly, quarterly and annual requirements and deadlines.
    • Collaborate in building infrastructure for budget management at the Center.
    • Develops and executes an operations approach that ensures the office stays on target in meeting the requirements of the grant.
    • Monitors the internal budget, prepares budget reports and manages vendor invoices and payments.
    • Drafts and edits technical reports and management correspondence.

    Qualifications (Education, Experience and Specialized Training)
    • Bachelor degree in a health related field, business administration, management or accounting. M.S. or MPH highly preferred
    • Executive Administrative & Support
    • Five (5) related experience with demonstrated executive and administrative support skills
    • Must be able to carry a University- issued cellular phone and respond to calls after hours.

    Physical Demands
    Able to lift various materials up to 25 pounds on an occasional basis
    Able to bend, crouch, and reach continuously
    Physically able to remain seated, frequently to continuously
    Able to remain standing up to 15% of the time
    Possesses dexterity abilities required to perform job duties, including extensive keyboard work, operating office equipment, performing filing, and other job-related responsibilities

    Skills and Attributes
    • Strong computer skills required, including proficiency with Windows, Apple OSX, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
    • Must be extremely flexible, able to take initiative and work independently, but also work as a team player; proven ability to effectively manage multiple high-priority tasks and requests and handle shifting priorities.
