Meeting/Event Director jobs in Oregon
Meeting/Event Director directs the overall planning and strategy for live or virtual meetings and events for an organization. Defines the goals, success metrics, and messaging for events. Being a Meeting/Event Director implements best practices and develops planning standards, policies. and procedures. Additionally, Meeting/Event Director develops a network of vendors. Approves the final selection of venues, catering, technology, and other event support services. Reviews and approves contracts and has overall responsibility for ensuring events stay within budget. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Meeting/Event Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Meeting/Event Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. Qualifications:
- Mandatory possession of an Oregon ASL Interpreter License or eligibility for a temporary license.
- A Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field is preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of onsite school experience beneficial, but newcomers are welcome for a clinical interview.
- Proficiency in using tech tools like Zoom and various educational apps.
- Must obtain liability insurance upon employment offer.
Position Details:
- Role: 1099 Contractor
- Duration: Current school year with potential for renewal
- Hours per Week: Approximately 37.5
- Compensation: Competitive hourly pay ranging from $35 to $43, paid weekly via direct deposit or check. Pay includes both direct and indirect services—compensation even if a student cancels.
