Member Services Director directs and coordinates all aspects of the health maintenance organization (HMO) member services department. Plans and directs policies and objectives for addressing member inquiries. Being a Member Services Director establishes service quality goals for the department and implements strategies to meet these goals. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Member Services Director typically reports to top management. The Member Services Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Member Services Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.   • The University of Alaska Southeast (UAS) seeks a motivated leader to serve as the Director of Business Services. This position is located on the Juneau campus with regional responsibilities including the Ketchikan and Sitka campuses. The Business Services Director is a member of the administrative leadership team, reporting to the Vice Chancellor for Administrative Services in collaboration with the directors of Budget and Facilities.

    As Director of Business Services, you will join a dedicated team in Administrative Services in providing fiscal and accounting management overseeing the Office of the Bursar and Student Accounts, Accounts Payable, Procurement, Travel, and the General Ledger.

    To thrive in this role, you must be a collaborative leader that is able to work with a diverse group of people. It is important to have strong problem-solving skills in order to assess situations, find creative solutions and make informed decisions that are in the best interest of the university. The ability to effectively communicate with students, faculty, staff, and other stakeholders is essential. Strong listening skills and the ability to express oneself clearly is also crucial.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Master's degree in accounting, business, or a related field is preferred; Or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

    Position Details:

    This is a full time, exempt staff position with a competitive salary and full UA employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 83, based on education and experience.
