Member Services Manager is responsible for daily activities in the member services function for a health plan or health maintenance organization (HMO). Collects data on member inquiries and service requests and conducts analysis to identify trends and recommend solutions. Being a Member Services Manager ensures service representatives follow established policies for addressing member inquiries and meet service quality goals. Manages the recruitment, hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management of staff. Additionally, Member Services Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Position Summary
Actively greets members, provides high level member service, verifies membership card, keeps entry counts, and checks receipts upon members exiting. Performs and documents warehouse safety and security checks.
Job Duties/Essential Functions
● Conducts hourly building safety and security checks. Walks the building and perimeter, pushes cart and picks up stray items or puts items away.
● Corrects safety and security problems encountered, such as spills, trip hazards, and blocked exits. Fills out reports and shows results to the duty manager. Attends warehouse safety meetings.
● Maintains the entrance area consisting of opening/closing store doors, greeting members, verifying membership card, offering a cart, directing members, keeping coffee grinder clean, and keeping entrance/exit area clean and dry.
● Uses a handheld clicker to keep count of entering members, reports half-hours to front end managers, and records counts on weekly reports.
● Maintains the exit area consisting of ensuring smooth exit line flow, assisting members with items or cart, plugging in scooters, validating receipts to compare to merchandise, prompting member services, marks receipts with highlighter and thanks members.
● Performs lot rounds consisting of watching the afterhours exit door and driving their personal vehicle around in the lot. Ensures workers make it to their cars safely, watches for members trying to enter the store, and scans for general suspicious behavior. Watches closing managers leave, reports any suspicious activity to duty manager, and calls police if necessary.
● Ensures proper cleanup and disposal of hazardous materials.

● Hazard Communication and JHA (initial assignment), Costco Hazardous Materials DOT Training Course: Part 1 (within 30 days and then every year), Hazmat Universal Waste Training- Short Version (within 30 days and then every year), Option STOP Training (within 30 days), and Floor Walk Inspection Training (within 30 days).
● Must be current on annual safety training within 30 days of hire.
● Driver’s License required for using personal vehicle for lot rounds. Recommended:
● High School Diploma or GED preferred.
● Customer service skills preferred.
