Mental Health Technician observes and assists assigned mental health patients and helps with daily living activities, therapeutic activities, and socialization. Responsible for the overall maintenance of a therapeutic environment in the psychiatric unit and to ensure the safety of patients and staff. Being a Mental Health Technician attends and participates in group therapy, in-service education, and staff meetings. Records information about patients including vital signs, weight, and demeanor. Additionally, Mental Health Technician may communicate with the patient's family as needed. Typically requires an associate degree. Typically reports to a registered nurse (rn) or other supervisor. The Mental Health Technician works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. We are looking for a friendly, compassionate individual to work in our busy mental health clinic as a full-time Mental Health Tech.
Applicant must be able to multi-task, be highly organized and have attention to detail.
Job description: Mental health tech will be responsible for scheduling and managing care of clients during treatments, assisting medical providers with prior authorizations and medication refills, vitals, and education of treatment plans. Tech also assists with office administration including answering phones, working front desk and other duties as assigned.
Requirement: working towards a degree in psychology or have at least 1 year experience working in the mental health field. (or medication aide/medical assistant)
