Position Summary:
Under direction of the Purchasing Manager, the Buyer Assistant provides support to the Purchasing Department, in accordance with company policies and procedures. The Buyer Assistant compiles information and records to prepare purchase orders for the procurement of materials and other goods. Searches inventory records or shop to determine if material on hand is sufficient quantity. Communicates with vendors, suppliers and other internal and external customers involved in the materials management program.
