Merchandise Buyer Assistant, Sr. jobs in Eden Prairie, MN

Are you looking to gain experience in Supply Chain? Doherty has teamed up with a leading manufacturer of prescription eyewear! We’re looking to hire a Buyer Assistant for the state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Ramsey, MN. This is a 4-6 month contract.

  • • Pay of $22-25 per hour

    Summary:

    Responsible for procurement, source to pay and supply management of assigned items & spend categories. Ensure alignment of the materials sourcing and supply strategy with business strategies together with multi-functional stakeholders (Operations, Finance, Commercial & Marketing).

    Buyer Assistant Main Responsibilities:

    • • Develop strategic objectives that focus on areas of quality, cost, flexibility, productivity and speed.

      • • Ensure the continuous availability of quality materials and finished components.

        • • Accurately identify risks that affect the supply, transformation, delivery and customer demand.

          • • Develop materials supply and delivery processes supportive of business requirements.

            • • Utilize material requirement planning (MRP), capacity management and advanced planning system technologies to manage material supply.

              • • Manage receipt routings for materials and liaise w/ the relevant stakeholders on inventory transactions for all materials issues and transfers.

                • • Conduct RFP’s and RFQ’s in conjunction with originating departments. Provide procurement expertise support of third party lens, new films, capital equipment sourcing and purchases.

                  • • Assist in the sourcing of materials and suppliers for new products and projects – originated from Operations, R&D or other stakeholders.

                    • • Monitor supplier performance using a supplier rating program that monitors, measures and provides feedback on performance.

                      • • Initiate process improvements that are enabled and supported by right use of technology/system.

                        • • Create and maintain work instruction, processes and procedures.

                          Buyer Assistant Key Requirements:

                          • • Experience as a Buyer in a manufacturing facility preferred.

                            • • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience preferred.
