Job Description

We are currently seeking a Sr. Buyer/Planner to join a medical device client in Milpitas. This is a temp-to-hire role. The role is 100% onsite.

• Performs complex purchasing assignments under limited direction to purchase materials, equipment and services at prices which are consistent with quality reliability, delivery and economic objectives.
• Procure PCB, Sheet metals and injection mold parts.
• Provides quotation/bid analysis, price negotiation and order placement for critical items.
• Develop sources of supply where existing vendors and preferred suppliers are inadequate.
• Expedites delivery of purchased parts, provides support in the resolution of receiving, accounting and /or supplier invoices discrepancies.
• Compiles, analyzes and makes recommendations on data to determine most cost-effective method and feasibility of component, assembly, product or equipment.
• Conducts initial supplier surveys/interviews and supplier capability analyses, determining supplier qualifications and monitors performances and services.
• Performs liaison between suppliers, purchasing, engineering, production and accounts payable on procurement matters.
• Prepares documents and agreements, recommends and negotiates contracts and volume purchase agreements within specified guidelines.
• Reviews and processes MRP actions for materials ordering and scheduling.
• Monitors PPV cost and freight expenses monthly.
• Compiles and analyzes data monthly to justify expenses.
• Maintains purchasing data files in MAX and files hard copies of Purchase Orders in purchasing.
• Stand - in as a production planner whenever necessary.
• Develops, implements and maintains EIN 13485 purchasing policies and procedures.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
• Relevant experience preferred; minimum of 5 years.
• Purchasing experience in a medical device environment.
• In-depth knowledge of ERP/MRP manufacturing software.
• Critical thinking and good negotiation skills.
• Strong communication skills.
• Self-Motivation.
