Qualifications
Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Business with studies in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Logistics or similar discipline. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Required
- Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques.
- Experienced in purchasing and contract negotiations
- Intermediate level Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Express.
- Rapidly obtain, sort, filter, and analyze large volumes of data for distillation into high-level reports.
- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, professional documents, insurance plans, Company policies, procedures and Governmental regulations.
- Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form,
- Work under minimal supervision.
- Excellent written, oral, and presentation/ communication skills and the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from senior management, employees, government officials, and the public
- Familiar with shipboard construction requirements ie. Mil Std, IEEE, Vibration (Mil P 167), EMI (Mil P 461).
- Familiar with typical suppliers for defense ships construction.
- Additional experience with Excel (Pivot Tables, V Lookup, standard formulas) and ERP systems.
Desired
- A minimum of five years of experience in purchasing, sourcing, and/or manufacturing planning desired.
- Experience with Government Program procurement, to include a working knowledge of FAR/DFAR and DoD or DHS policies
- Working experience in a construction environment.

Working Conditions
This position is considered OFFICE WORK which is characterized as follows.
- Almost exclusively indoors during the day and occasionally at night
- Occasional exposure to airborne dust in the work place
- Work surface is stable (flat)
