Merchant Card Sales Manager jobs in Arkansas

Merchant Card Sales Manager manages and directs a sales force to achieve sales and profit goals within a region. Designs and recommends sales programs for the merchant card department and sets short and long-term sales strategies. Being a Merchant Card Sales Manager evaluates and implements appropriate new card sales techniques to increase the region's sales volume. May recommend product or service enhancements to improve customer satisfaction and sales potential. Additionally, Merchant Card Sales Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Merchant Card Sales Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Merchant Card Sales Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     As a Merchant on the Apparel team, you’ll be based in Bentonville, AR and will serve as an advocate for our members and see the products you buy come to life in clubs and online.

    You’ll be the visionary, strategist and expert for the category, leveraging the scale and access of the Sam’s Club system to truly impact the business and the lives of millions of members worldwide.

    You’ll work closely in a cross-functional buying team to help establish strategy and manage budgets to drive profitable growth, develop robust partnerships with suppliers, and use vision and creativity to impact the member experience.

    What you’ll do

    Set the category strategy : you’ll establish strategy, manage budgets to drive profitable growth, and use vision and creativity to impact the member experience

    Build relationships : you’ll use your influencing and leadership skills to build partnerships with suppliers, vendors, business partners and other Merchants

    Make decisions : you’ll work across all facets of the business including replenishment, supply chain, manufacturing, club operations, assortments, budgeting, forecasting, and pricing to make decisions about nearly every aspect of your products

    Know your category : you’ll know your members and suppliers better than anyone and are always thinking about what is next for your business

    Have an omni approach : you’ll not only buy product for clubs, but for our online business as well, building an omni-level strategy based on how our members shop

    What you’ll bring

    Previous P&L experience with a history of profitable decision making, preferably as a planner, associate merchant, merchant or similar

    Attention to detail as someone that maintains a high level of accuracy in their work

    Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

    Clear, concise and persuasive communication skills to interact with various teams and stakeholders

    Trend / assortment experience with a keen eye for spotting trends, to ensure our product range stays relevant and competitive

    Proven negotiation skills with ability to lead and close negotiations successfully to ensure profitable partnerships

    Collaboration and relationship building as a team player, able to build strong relationships with colleagues and external partners alike, while fostering a positive and productive work environment

    Curiosity to find and solve problems or improve current practices

    Minimum Qualifications...

    Bachelor’s degree in Business, Merchandising , or related field and 3 years’ experience in merchandising, buying, financial planning, operations, or related area OR 5 years’ experience in merchandising, buying, financial planning, operations, or related area.
