General Description:
Engage key stakeholders to develop new business and sell industrial automation services and equipment in targeted industrial markets.
Reports to: Business Manager
Responsibilities:
- Cultivate customer relationships within targeted end user industries.
- Travel to companies in primary geographic area to sell industrial automation. Identify new project opportunities and manage opportunities to order closure.
- Evaluate existing equipment and recommend upgrades or replacements.
- Establish and maintain a network of business connections at target customers, including key decision makers in the engineering, project management, and corporate sectors.
- Develop and execute marketing plans for targeted areas.
- Identify and qualify key account pursuits aligned with Card-Monroe Automation business strategies and maintain an active funnel and business forecast.
- Collaborate with Card-Monroe Automation strategic business partners to promote sales opportunities.
- Participate in the development of proposals, contract negotiations, and related activities. Engage sales management, discipline leads, and applications leads as necessary to help ensure proposal continuity and adherence to processes and procedures.
- Follow projects sold from kickoff through commissioning to ensure project success and customer satisfaction.
- Pursue additional opportunities of other Card-Monroe Automation portfolio offerings such as panel building, electrical design, electrical installation, mechanical design, machining, and fabrication, etc.
- May engage existing customers but primary focus will be developing new customers.
- Target annual sales revenue of $5M in new business growth.
- Commission paid on sales revenue and margin.
- Focus technologies include but not limited to:
o Material handling/end of line packaging
o Robotic cells/Pick and Place o Manufacturing Cells
o Autonomous Mobile Robots
Minimum Educational Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in engineering or related field preferred, experience in lieu of a degree will be considered. Minimum Previous Experience:
- Five years successful sales experience in automotive-focused automation sales preferred. Minimum Additional Training:
- Strong communication, interpersonal, customer service, and sales skills.
- The ability to relate technical information to non-technical customers.
- Excellent technical and problem-solving skills.
Other Skills:
- Territory will encompass primarily the SC/NC/GA/TN region but could include other areas as business needs dictate, including international.
- Relocation will be considered for well-qualified candidates.
