Additionally, Mergers & Acquisitions Analyst prepares required documentation. Identifies trends and developments in competitive environments and presents findings. Assists with project management activities. Requires a bachelor's degree in business, finance, or accounting or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Position Purpose | Reporting to the Associate Dean of Libraries, Collections & Content Strategies, leads the coordination of selecting, licensing, and collection analysis activities for the Dartmouth Libraries. Contributes to the implementation of collection development strategies for the Dartmouth Library. This role engages in vendor negotiations for electronic resource licensing, approval plans, and analysis of collection use. Develops and streamlines workflows for making the Library's collections discoverable and accessible. Focus on diversity and inclusion in the acquisition of collections. Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities | * ALA accredited Master's Degree in library and/or information science or equivalent education and experience. * Six plus years of applicable collection development and staff management experience, including team leadership * At least 1 year of experience drafting and negotiating electronic resource licenses, including license terms pertaining to copyright/fair use, accessibility, text/data mining, etc. Familiarity with model licenses and evolving licensing trends. * Advanced knowledge of best practices in collection development and acquisitions. * Knowledge of digital tools, standards, and initiatives, such as ONIX, SUSHI, and COUNTER * Experience with assessment, statistics, and budget/accounting practices. * Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholders * Demonstrated ability to foster a collaborative, inter-departmental approach to problem solving and decision making. * Experience with vendor negotiation best practices |
Preferred Qualifications | * Familiarity and application of NASIG Core Competencies for Electronic Resources Librarians. * Experience with leading through influence * Tolerance for complexity and ambiguity. * Creative thinking and problem solving. * Knowledge of discovery systems, Open URL, EzProxy and authentication methods. * Familiarity with emerging acquisitions, licensing, and access models.
