- Primary Purpose
The Project Contracts Analyst is primarily responsible for assisting the Contracts Manager in contracting for, and administering an Engineering Design and Services Agreement, and negotiating an EPC Agreement. The Project Contract Analyst tracks and supports the monitoring of the contract development process, contract changes, deliverables, correspondence and risks, and maintains associated documentation. The Project Contract Analyst may works with legal in the support of Conforming FEED and EPC Agreements. Uses standardized processes and tools to blend contract compliance with commercial know-how and practicality and focuses on contract compliance and customer service for the project team.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides support to the project teams' understanding of all contract requirements and coordinate with the project team to ensure compliance with all contracts throughout the life of the project. Relays to the project team of the requirements of the contract and monitoring compliance. Works with the project team and/or business unit and Legal, ensuring that all legal and contractual matters are addressed efficiently and promptly and provides support for the OBE process to convert from a cost reimbursable phase to a Lump Sum phase.
- Responds to inquiries regarding contract obligations and revisions and provides recommendations on change order and amendment documents in conjunction with legal and the contracts manager. Aids the Contracts Manager in managing the ongoing life cycle of the agreement including any potential amendments to product/service price and/or terms and conditions, contract performance against commitments, and compliance to agreed terms.
- Assists advisors and manager in negotiating contract terms, pricing and payment schedules, ensuring that the agreements with vendors/suppliers are commercially advantageous. Prepares back up documentation prior to negotiations as assigned.
- Provides support in preparing for reviews, drafts white papers and tools for analyzing and tracking of Contractor OBE process and claims.
- Prepares letters and responses to the EPC contractor regarding certain aspects of the project and contract. Helps to prepare notices and facilitates quick responses to EPC contractor's inquiries.
- Collaborates with the risk and tax departments and contractors to administer insurance and tax programs required for specific projects, regions, or financing needs.
- Supports the development and integration of contract management tools, templates, methods and processes. Using tools and templates, prepares and disseminates information regarding contract status, compliance, modifications, etc. Works with Project Analyst to maintain the contract database and manage the contract document repository in SharePoint.
- Get involved with regional and global contract management initiatives as needed and understand its impacts to the project, including any weather threats to the region or job site, or governmental tariff risk and ensures proper documentation and management of the initiatives or events.
- Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in related field or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Required
Experience
- 2 years of related professional experience in energy and procurement or contracts management. Required
- LNG, supply chain and commercial legal experience Preferred
- Experience in Open Book Process is a plus Preferred
- Experience with day-to-day management of complex outsourcing arrangements Required
Skills and Abilities
- Possess comprehensive knowledge of general corporate business practices, government and commercial contracting regulations and principles, subcontracting practices, and accounting and finance principles Beginner
- Clear understanding of contracting strategies, including Convertible Contracts (i.e. OBE to LSTK Agreements) Beginner
- Strong contracts negotiation skills Intermediate

Licenses and Certifications

This role is expected to work five days a week in the office and ten hour days.
OFFICE: Work onsite at a company facility due to the nature of the duties and responsibilities of the position.
