The Meter Installation Technician objective is to provide service for the installation of meters at utility Locations. Primarily responsibilities will include: Managing a daily schedule for work accomplishment, Accountability of Assigned Meters, Conduct work within a Work Order Management system, Removal of old meters, Installation of new meters for residential and commercial uses. High level of public interaction is required working in an outdoor environment. Location of Work: MN, ND & SD surrounding areas

Duties and core responsibilities include the following:

• Removal of old electric meter with the Re-Installation of a new electric meter
• Performs meter change outs per a specified manner.
• Conduct work through a Work Order system
• Manage all inventory of new and old Meters
• Working with utility personnel and utility consumers.
• Responsible use of a company truck

Perform other responsibilities as assigned or required.

Required Skills:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Must have firm understanding of mechanical and electrical principles
• Must have computer skills including the ability to operate a PC, mobile handheld applications, email, and navigation systems
• Must maintain a professional manner and have strong communication skills to communicate effectively with the public, utility and internal teams
• Individual must be willing and able to travel and stay overnight four to five weeks of their work schedule
• Must have a valid driver's license
• The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
• While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally required to sit, and to reach with hands and arms. The employee is constantly required to stand, walk, and use hands to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl

Work Requirements:

• Electrical or utility line of work/experience is preferred but not required
• On the job training and supervision will be provided prior to working alone
• This position will REQUIRE travel. Need to be willing to travel/stay overnight as part of work schedule
• High school diploma or equivalent

Work Status and Shift:

• Temporary (Project Based)
• Mon-Fri 1st shift hours (possible weekends/overtime)

Rate of pay: $6.75 per meter exchange
