Bindewald Maintenance located at the CALUMET Refinery located in Shreveport La. is looking for a Vacuum truck technician to assist the vacuum truck operator.

Job description:

The vac truck tech. is responsible for assisting the driver will all aspects of the vac truck operation. The tech. will accompany the driver on all vac jobs within the refinery. His duties will be to remove hoses, connect them, place them in the vessel being vacuumed, adjust the hoses during vacuuming, stand by, monitor, respond to all instructions of the operator, remove hoses, clean them, and store them back on the truck. Repeat this process at the waste facility when vac truck tank is being emptied. The tech shall also assist with cleaning and maintenance of the truck as directed.

The tech. must also perform unrelated duties when vac truck calls are not being performed, such as grounds maintenance, fueling services, housekeeping and any other tasks deemed necessary by supervision.

Working Environment: Industrial setting-Refinery, Petro Chemical

Work Location: Calumet Shreveport, La.

Working schedule: 8 hours per day, Seasonal shifts are 7:00 am till 3:30 pm October – May and 6:00 am till 2:30 pm June through September.

Overtime and weekend work will be required on an unpredictable basis therefore the tech. must be flexible to the changing schedule.

Requirements: Previous experience with operating machinery of any kind, and preferably vacuum trucks but not essential to candidacy.

Must be able to work in all outside elements while wearing prescribed safety gear.

Must possess transportation to and from work.

Must provide consent to and pass a criminal background check.

Must be able to pass a drug screen.

Must possess a valid state drivers license.

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.

Must pass a physical.

Must be able to communicate orally.

Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

Must be able to pass the Calumet Refinery safety exam.

Must agree to work overtime when assigned.

Must be flexible to perform various job duties as directed.
