JOB VACANCY TITLE: Meter Reader

LOCATION: Service Department

SALARY: $15 per hour STATUS: Non-exempt

DESCRIPTION / RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Duties include, but not limited to the following:
• Accurately read meters
• Removal of meters for repairs / setting meters for new service
• Meter testing
• Non-payment service shutoff / collections from customer and reconnections of service
• Work productively and efficiently without taking shortcuts
• Required to be on call one week of each month

REQUIREMENTS:

• Valid driver’s license along with a good driving record; Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must possess basic mathematic and writing skills
• Being in good physical condition with ability to walk meter routes is required
• Appropriate personal appearance and good communications skills required due to contact with customers
• Available to work overtime and report to work after hours in response to emergencies
• Abilities to work in all weather conditions including extreme heat and cold
