Microbiologist jobs in Broomfield, CO

Are you seeking an opportunity to break into the cannabis testing industry? Nordic is looking to add a passionate microbiologist to our team who will perform sample preparation, data analysis, and contribute to a team environment at our Denver location. Nordic Analytical Laboratories is a state certified and ISO 17025 accredited cannabis testing facility, located in Denver, Colorado. Full training on our analytical methods will be provided on-site for all highly motivated candidates seeking to join our dynamic team. This position requires a high level of attention to detail in a fast-paced and exciting environment.

Duties:

• Perform PCR testing for the detection of Salmonella, STEC, and Aspergillus spp.
• Perform plating techniques for the detection of viable yeast and mold
• Properly document sample accessioning and maintain thorough records of tasks performed Following SOPs validated by the state to maintain regulatory compliance
• Entering testing data into METRC and notifying clients of test results
• Follow all laboratory quality policies and procedures, reporting any non-conforming work to management
• Working with the team to prioritize daily and ongoing duties related to sample preparation, media preparation, workflow, and quality documentation
• Preparing stock organisms for ongoing QA/QC monitoring
• Maintain a sterile work environment in our microbial clean room

Requirements:

• At least a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology (or other related life sciences)
• At least 1 year of experience in a regulated laboratory environment-as per state regulations
• METRC experience preferred, but not required
• Experience in a marijuana testing lab preferred, but not required
• Must have MED Occupational License
• Must be a resident of the state of Colorado
• Must be able and willing to work at least 40 hours per week
• Candidate must be willing to commit to a regular schedule that may include a weekend day

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00 - $32.00 per hour
