About the role

In this Market Staff job, employees devote their attention to creating eye-catching displays of our amazing products, including cupcakes, cake pops, cakes, etc. Customer service is a large part of this role from greeting customers and taking their orders to making product recommendations and drawing in customers to the stand. A desire to help others, deliver friendly, prompt customer service, and learn our high standards for product freshness and sanitation is key to being successful in this role. Pay is hourly rate, plus tips.

Responsibilities

• Provides premier customer service, including greeting customers and answering their questions.
• Sells products by providing customers with information needed to make product-related decisions and draws people from the market floor into the stand.
• Makes final point of sale of custom orders for online customers.
• Packages, labels, and prepares product as needed.
• Maintains and fills bakery trays, display cases, and product boxes.
• Assists with organizing and restocking supplies.
• Follows sanitation and safety guidelines.
• Assists in other duties as assigned.
• Conducts weekly inventories of packaging and other market supplies and reports needs to manager by weekly supply order date.
• Cleans and re-organizes any work areas, making sure all areas are sanitized and ready for the next shift.
• Attends all team meetings.

Location & commitments

• Part time-daytime position with rotating Saturday commitment.
• Hours will fall within the open times for the Lancaster Central Market with a ½ hour prep time before open and after close.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 25 per week
