Millwright maintains industrial machinery and equipment using hoists, lift trucks, hand and power tools. Moves, assembles, installs or dismantles machinery. Being a Millwright interprets schematic diagrams, blueprints, and sketches. Analyzes plans for new equipment and maps out space to unpack and assemble new equipment. Additionally, Millwright troubleshoots problems and repairs or replaces worn or broken parts as necessary. May use equipment like forklifts, aerial lifters, and cranes to move heavy or unwieldy machinery. May perform welding, fabrication, or calibration as needed. Follows all work site safety requirements and regulations. Typically requires a high school diploma. May require OSHA Forklift Operator Certification. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Millwright to join our team. The Millwright will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing machinery and equipment in our industrial facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial maintenance and possess a variety of technical skills.
Duties:
- Install, dismantle, and move machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, and other specifications
- Perform routine maintenance on machinery, including lubrication, cleaning, and adjustments
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues with machinery and equipment
- Repair or replace defective parts using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments
- Fabricate parts as needed using various tools and equipment
- Read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics
- Collaborate with other maintenance personnel to ensure efficient operation of machinery
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean work area
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience as a Millwright or similar role
- Strong knowledge of industrial maintenance practices and procedures
- Familiarity with electrical systems and ability to perform basic electrical tasks
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Must have strong knowledge of acceptable practices in process piping (3A standards, GMP, FDA, requirements). Read and work from standard P and I drawings.
