Mine Foreman supervises a staff who prepares, inspects, and works in mining projects such as underground or surface mining. Ensures the staff performs project research, design calculations, and records accuracy of mining activities. Being a Mine Foreman may require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty or in a related area. May require certification by the MSHA. Additionally, Mine Foreman typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Mine Foreman manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. Elliot is a full-service electrical contractor specializing in overhead and underground distribution, transmission, substations, lighting, traffic signaling, utility locating and industrial/commercial services.
Job Description
The primary responsibility of the Foreman is to plan and supervise all work assigned to the crew.
- Supervise and plan all energized & de-energized work assigned to the crew.
- Supervise the work of all crew members.
- Maintain the proper care of assigned Company equipment and tools.
- Assume the responsibility for the crew.
- Observe & assist with enforcement of Company safety rules.
- Perform other duties as directed or required.
Qualifications
- Journeyman Classification
- 3 Years of experience
- Valid Class A CDL and medical card required
- Proficiency with electrical distribution systems
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screening
