    JOB SUMMARY:

    Satcom Direct is looking for a mid-level mobile app software engineer with  C#, .Net Core/Framework, Xamarin (Android, iOS), and Azure Cloud technologies to assist our scrum teams with developing customer facing web applications. The successful candidate will be responsible for writing high quality, innovative, fully testable, and responsive mobile applications to include the consumption and development and support of ReST API solutions.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

    To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and should demonstrate the following competencies to consistently perform the essential functions of this position. All employees are expected to adhere to and be knowledgeable of Satcom Direct (SD) operations standards, established security/safety rules and requirements for attendance.

    The requirements listed below are representative of the fundamental knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform the job successfully:

    • Professional and dependable software engineer contributing to an agile team developing mobile applications using C#, .Net Core/Framework, Xamarin (Android, iOS), and Azure Cloud technologies To create, maintain, and support existing mobile (iOS & Android) and web applications to create, maintain, and support existing mobile (iOS & Android) and web applications.
    • Be a positive, approachable, helpful, thoughtful team player with a can-do attitude
    • Solid understanding and experience with mobile application development 
    • Experience in enterprise web technologies (Angular CLI/JS/4 , ASP.NET, HTML, CSS)
    • Experience with Entity Framework and/or capable of developing and tuning complex SQL queries 
    • Support the entire life cycle of app creation, internal testing and app store delivery.
    • Gather and refine specifications and requirements based on technical needs.
    • Demonstrate analytical skills when troubleshooting and debugging software applications to appropriately identify and correct issues and upkeep overall app performance 
    • Develop well designed, testable, efficient, and maintainable code using best software development practices
    • Create and maintain software documentation 
    • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Experience with CI/CD delivery pipelines using Azure DevOps (VSTS) or TFS
    • Candidates must successfully complete a background check and drug test
    • Other duties as assigned

    GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS:

    • Proven Xamarin/Xamarin Forms application development experience (Android and iOS) using Visual Studio / VS Code
    • .NET CORE/Framework, C#
    • Experience with App Store and Play Store deployment
    • Experience with App Version Control
    • Familiarity with SignalR and/or Local Notification
    • ReST API
    • Unit / BDD / TDD Methodology 
    • Analytical and Diagnostic Skills
    • Practical experience with Agile Scrum / Kanban methodologies
    • Working knowledge of Azure
    • Azure DevOps (VSTS), TFS or Git repositories
    • CI/CD automation
    • Willingness to code review and QA other team members work
    • A plus but not required:
      • Angular CLI/JS/4 , HTML, CSS ()

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

    • Bachelor of Science degree in related discipline preferred
    • 5 years mobile application development experience with Xamarin/Xamarin Forms for Android and iOS

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    While performing general office duties for this position, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand and/or walk around (including the use of stairs). Other demands include the ability to openly communicate with others by talking, listening and reading, able to lift light objects (<25lbs), and use standard office equipment such as computer, printer, phone and cell phone. In addition, there is an occasional need to bend, twist or stoop in order to open/close cabinets, reach for files or other standard office type objects.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    The office environment is generally quiet and, in a temperature, controlled setting with random adjustments in noise or temperature due to others talking or laughing loudly, unscheduled maintenance repairs to the building or its interior offices or unpredictable situations due to weather or other acts beyond company control. An employee must be willing to work their regularly assigned work schedule for their particular duties and/or job responsibilities and in times of need, be able to work an extended schedule depending on company/department needs, project requirements or customer demands. Some overnight travel is required to facilitate work objectives. While at client site locations, if applicable, employee will be required to adhere to the proper safety precautions established by the client while in proximity to their work area, flight-line or maintenance repair center; work may require some physical effort in the handling of light materials, boxes or equipment. The temperature at client locations can vary from controlled to variations off hot/cold when working, standing or walking in or near the flight-line or maintenance repair center.
