JOB GOAL:
The job of Student Club Sponsor - Academic/Activity Clubs is done for the purpose(s) of coordinating and guiding student participants in club activities in accordance with applicable school, district, state and federal policies related to the specific program; promoting program participation; providing supervision of student participants during all aspects of the club activities; and coaching students for competitive events and leadership development. Individuals in this job classification are assigned as a student club advisor in a program at the High School or Middle School level.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinates a variety of activities related to the specific program that may occur both during the school year and summer (e.g. competitions, field trips, fund raising events, etc.) for the purpose of implementing scheduled activities.
- Guides students in the development of program objectives for the purpose of identifying specific program activities and tasks required to be implemented throughout the year.
- Identifies program needs for the purpose of providing recommendations and/or approves expenditures for equipment, and supplies, that will enhance the assigned student activity.
- Participates in meetings of the program for the purpose of providing guidance to student participants, oversight of group activities and/or ensuring program objectives are achieved.
- Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
- Promotes program (e.g. club fairs, announcement, flyers, etc.) for the purpose of increasing interest and participation in program.
- Supervises student participants in activities (e.g. competition, travel, meetings, overnight and or out of area trips, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring activities are conducted in compliance with the program objectives and in a safe and positive learning environment conforming to District standards.
- Transports student participants for the purpose of providing transportation to and from scheduled events.

- ADDITIONAL PAY INFORMATION:
If the applicant hired is a current USD 497 certified staff member, this position will have a stipend of $1,525 for the season, paid over the teacher contract.
If the applicant hired is not a current USD 497 staff member, this position will have a stipend of $1,525 for the season, paid over the season. Please note: if classified employment with the district is subsequently accepted, classified staff member pay (below) will apply for the remainder of the season.
If the applicant hired is a current USD 497 classified staff member, they will be paid $7.25 per hour for the hours worked.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Twelve-month supplemental contract - salary and work year to be established by the Board.

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation.
The tasks listed in this position description are subject to change at the discretion of the superintendent. The incumbent is expected to take on other duties as requested or assigned by his/her supervisor.
