Model Maker creates, designs, and constructs tools and parts in a variety of materials such as wood and plastic. Uses blueprints, drawings, and/or CAD designs to create models according to established specifications. Being a Model Maker may perform minor repair on model making machinery. Requires a high school diploma. Additionally, Model Maker typically reports to a supervisor. The Model Maker works under moderate supervision. Status: Part-time, Flexible, Mondays- Fridays
Major Functional Areas and Description of Duties:
- Poses for fine arts studio classes; figure drawing, painting and other drawing courses for as required by class curriculum
- Adapts and sustains a variety of portrait poses
- Professionally and appropriately interacts with students and faculty
- Ability to provide full range of traditional life drawing poses, from gestures to sustained poses as required by the instructor
- Ability to maintain poses for a fixed period of time
Qualifications: (Experience, Skills & Abilities)
- Experience as studio model is preferred
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Sports, dance, theater, or modeling background is preferred
- Must be responsible, flexible, and reliable
- Must have a professional presence
Working Conditions/Physical Demands:
- Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time
- Ability to hold a pose for a period of time
