Position Title: Residential Substance Abuse Monitor Tech

Reports to: Administrator

Must have a valid U.S. Driver's License

Summary/Objective:

The Resident Monitor Tech plays a crucial role in supporting clients' integration into the program and monitoring their physical and mental well-being. This involves providing direct client care with empathy and ensuring a safe environment. The tech also documents patient behaviors, communicates effectively with both patients and staff, and maintains flexibility in scheduling.

Essential Functions:

Ensure compliance with facility program rules and schedule for each client.

Conduct visual assessments of clients at least hourly.

Immediately report any signs of self-harm or concerning behaviors to medical and clinical staff.

Document incidents and unusual circumstances.

Complete paperwork promptly, including pass-downs, incident reports, headcounts, and meal sheets.

Provide shift reports to incoming staff.

Enforce restrictions on client access to certain areas.

Maintain cleanliness of client dorms and common areas.

Notify clinician and administrator on-call if a client requests to leave.

Clean and prepare client beds and linens upon discharge.

Conduct client locker inspections.

Perform facility inspections and report findings.

Seek guidance from administrative staff when unsure about patient activities.

Transport clients to designated areas punctually.

Follow protocols for safe transport of patients, supplies, and specimens.

Maintain patient confidentiality and facility privacy standards.

Inspect vehicle safety features before use.

Adhere to CARF and HIPAA standards.

Supervisory Responsibility: None

Work Environment:

This role operates in a professional healthcare environment focused on treating individuals with substance abuse and mental health issues.

Physical Demands:

The employee must communicate effectively and perform various physical tasks such as standing, walking, and reaching. Occasionally, the position requires lifting objects up to 20 pounds.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position with a schedule of 7 days on and 7 days off. Shifts may vary between 4:00 pm to 12:00 am or 12:00 am to 8:00 am M-F, and 8:00 am to 8:00 pm or 8:00 pm to 8:00 am on Saturdays and Sundays. On-call duty is required during the 7-day off period.

Required Education and Experience:

High School Diploma or GED

Valid State Driver’s License

Other Duties:

The employee may be assigned additional duties by their supervisor.

Starting pay $692.00 per week.
