Summary:
The Credit Analyst II provides credit analysis for the Bank’s lending activities and works with the Senior Credit Officer to ensure that sound judgements are made with regard to the creditworthiness of prospective and current borrowers. This position supports the daily duties of underwriting and monitoring credit while performing analytical activities and identifying risks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Provides training and guidance to Credit Analyst Is as requested.
· Prepares credit analysis for the lending activities of the Bank by analyzing financial information on borrowers and guarantors.
· Assists supervisor to provide quality service to internal customers through risk assessment analysis of various lending proposals.
· Assists supervisor in credit and underwriting and perform analytical tasks.
· Evaluates credit limits and monitors credit risk.
· Interacts with current loan/credit customers, prospects, and bank lending officers.
· Analyzes loan data, including data provided by customers, credit bureaus, Bank records, and financial information, such as tax returns, financial statements, management accounts, and cash flow statements, on new and existing loans to ensure loan worthiness.
· Reviews loans, performs credit worthiness, and formulates recommendations for management.
· Periodically prices market securities used as collateral for certain loan relationships.
· Conducts appraisal reviews.
· Reviews and processes Business Manager’s advances and funding requests.
· Analyzes the credit and collateral aspects of business and individual loans both secured and unsecured.
· Prepares spreadsheets, reports, summaries, and opinions for Bank loan officers and loan committees to aid sound credit decisions on new and existing relationships.
· Ensures that all necessary information relevant for decision-making is included in the write up for credit lines and review presentation of credit lines.
· Ensures that customers’ financial statements are in line with Bank policies and express an opinion of the financial situation of the customer.
· Verifies the existence and conformity of source documents as well as the coherence of the presentation with the operations.
· Conducts financial analyses to support lending guidelines for impact on credit quality and efficiency, or other analytical projects as assigned.
· Stays informed about the legal, compliance, and market-risk-related issues involved in the approval of credit.
· Manages financial information files to assure current reports, financial statements and required information is received when the credit is reviewed.
· Assists supervisor in researching files during audit process and work closely with internal and external auditors and regulators upon request.
· Develops forms and documents for use as required loan analysis tools by loan officers to improve workflow and file documentation efficiency.
· Identifies and recommends opportunities for increased efficiencies as appropriate.
· Research, compile, and prepares reports, manuals, correspondence, or other information required by management or regulatory agencies.
· Complies with government, regulatory and Bank policies, and procedures.
