    We are looking for a Mortgage Loan Manager to join our team!
    The Mortgage Loan Manager’s starting salary $75K - $90K per year and this is a hybrid position. Our corporate office is located in Laplace, Louisiana and work on-premises is required, at times.
    Role:
    Responsible for organizing, planning, and directing Louisiana Federal Credit Union’s consumer mortgage loan functions to maximize profits and growth. Implements departmental lending policies and operational procedures consistent with overall company policies. Oversees the underwriting of consumer mortgage loans.
    Major Duties and Responsibilities:
    Team/Product Management:
    • Ensures the Mortgage Lending and Servicing teams are running optimally with adequate staffing and training to perform their jobs.
    • Ensures all service level expectations are met and department work is completed within expected timelines.
    • Acts as product owner of mortgage loan operating systems and integrated third-party vendors. Ensures system is performing to meet credit union mortgage needs, reviews and updates system configuration as needed, and recommends and implements system changes to align with credit union requirements.
    • Reviews and updates all mortgage lending products, procedures, policies, and underwriting guidelines as necessary to ensure alignment with Credit Union policy and applicable laws and regulations.
    • Effectively communicates policy/procedure changes and all other relevant Credit Union information with team and management.
    • Ensures team members complete required annual trainings.
    • Completes team member performance reviews within established deadlines.
    • Ensures compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
    Coaching:
    • Coaches team to achieve extraordinary levels of service to both internal and external members.
    • Coaches team members on daily tasks and contribute to their professional development.
    • Sets clear performance expectations and supports the individual team member’s success.
    • Conducts regular formal coaching sessions with individuals or groups to support team and individual results.
    • Provides timely feedback to keep individuals and team moving toward goals.
    • Hold team members accountable for performance expectations.
    Self-Management:
    • Maintains focus on personal and professional growth.
    • Seeks out opportunities to add value to the team and the organization.
    • Holds themselves to high performance standards.
    • Maintains and grows credit union and mortgage industry knowledge and seeks out opportunities to grow credit union membership and organizational impact.
    Experience required:
    • Five to ten years of similar or related experience, including time spent in preparatory positions.
    • Registered as an active Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) on the NMLS site. Must renew registration each year and update when changes to name, address, etc. occur.
    • Knowledge of all mortgage loan programs, documentation requirements, rate commitments and lending policies.
    Education:
    A high school degree or GED is required.
    Interpersonal Skills:
    A significant level of trust, credibility and diplomacy is required. In-depth dialogue, conversations and explanations with customers, direct and indirect reports and outside vendors can be of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature. Communications may involve motivating, influencing, educating and/or advising others on matters of significance. Typically includes subject matter experts as well as first level to middle managers.
    Other Skills:
    Strong supervisory and leadership skills required to manage, motivate and develop employees.
    Strong communication, analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills are required to effectively uncover and resolve complex member and employee issues.
    Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, attentiveness, information retention, fact and diplomacy are needed in dealing with both members and employees.
    Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
    The ability to make sound decisions, which includes making on-the-spot decisions regarding member transactions; weighing member satisfaction issues with the Credit Union exposure to loss or fraud and the ability to think through and rationalize decisions.
    Knowledge of State and Federal regulations affecting consumer mortgage loans.
    Knowledge of consumer mortgage loan policies, procedures, products, and services.
    ADA Requirements
    Physical Requirements:
    Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and regularly lifting of up to 10 lbs. and up to 30 lbs. on occasion. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6 – 8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.
    Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise.
    Mental and/or Emotional Requirements:
    Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization. Must demonstrate the highest level of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure, under the stress of deadlines/requirements, and with extreme accuracy and quality. Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising the highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.
