Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated Mortgage Loan Officer to facilitate our Bank's mortgage lending, including consumer loans. The ideal candidate will be responsible for promoting quality mortgage and consumer loan products and timely processing of the loan functions. The Mortgage Loan Officer will be responsible for attaining department and individual goals related to Mortgage Banking.

Essential Functions:

As a Mortgage Loan Officer, you will be responsible for the following essential functions:

1. Receives and screens loan applications, requests credit status, banking and other references. Corresponds with applicants or creditors to resolve questions regarding application. Analyzes applicant’s financial status, credit and property evaluation to determine feasibility of granting loan request. Communicates the loan decision to applicants, including the rationale for decisions. Ensures the necessary supporting documents are prepared.

2. Proactively develops business. Actively partners with key referral sources including local realtors, developers, construction companies and other financial institutions. Establishes and maintains strong relationships with existing and potential real estate customers. Supports and implements all marketing efforts related to Mortgage Banking. Represents FVSBank in the community.

3. Explains to customers the different types of loans and credit options that are available, as well as the terms of those services.

4.  Addresses customer concerns and takes appropriate action to resolve them.

5.  Maximizes customer relationships by referring additional banking products across all banking services at each mortgage closing.

6. Stay abreast of new types of loans and other financial services and products in order to better meet customers' needs.

7. Maintains educational and professional expertise through attendance at job related seminars, conferences and workshops and involvement in professional, civic and community groups 

8. Other duties as may be assigned.

Requirements

  Education

• High School Diploma or equivalency, required
• Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university plus additional bank related training or Banking School or equivalent work experience, preferred

Experience

• 2 to 4 years of loan origination experience, preferred 

Licensing

• Register and maintain licensing with the NMLS
