    • Ensures that appropriate accreditation documentation is available for the SCIF.
    • Functions as the Department of Defense Intelligence Information Systems (DoDIIS) Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) for the SCIF.
    • Conducts SCI security briefings, indoctrinations, and debriefings.
    • Conducts continuing SCI security education, training, and awareness program.

    • Maintains surveillance of facilities and personnel to negate espionage or other possible compromise of classified information.

    • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
    • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
    • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
    • Must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET clearance based on either SBI or an SSBI with eligibility for SCI access.
    • Temporary Duty (TDY) travel may be required up to 25% of the time.
    • Must possess valid driver's license in order to operate a GSA 3/4 ton vehicle for the purpose of shipping and receiving SCI via the Defense Courier Service (DCS).

    (1) applying security policies and procedures in two of more of the following security disciplines: personnel, information, physical and/or industrial security to meet mission requirements;
    (2) assisting with the management of Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) functions.
    This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-09).

    OR

    A Ph.D or equivalent Degree that is closely related to the position. Closely Related constitutes a degree which has educated the student in pertinent, specific position-related subject matter allowing the student to develop knowledge and abilities directly applicable to the position being filled such as National Security Studies, Political Science, International Relations/Foreign Affairs, Geography, Security Management/Administrations, Criminal Justice, Psychology, History, or Law. (NOTE: Transcripts must be submitted with application).

    Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.

    Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled. Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series.
