Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Mortgage Processor to join our team. As a Mortgage Processor, you will be responsible for reviewing and verifying loan applications, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, and facilitating the loan approval process. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of underwriting, mortgage servicing, and credit analysis.
Responsibilities:
- Review loan applications and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness
- Verify borrower information, including employment history, income, assets, and credit reports
- Analyze financial statements and credit reports to determine borrower eligibility
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including Fair Housing regulations and TILA
- Collaborate with loan officers, underwriters, and other stakeholders to resolve any issues or discrepancies
- Prepare loan files for underwriting review
- Communicate with borrowers to request additional documentation or clarify information as needed
- Maintain accurate records of all loan transactions and correspondence
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Mortgage Processor or in a similar role within the banking or financial services industry
- Strong knowledge of loan origination processes and procedures
- Familiarity with underwriting guidelines and requirements
- Proficient in credit analysis and risk assessment
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Knowledge of basic math calculations for loan-related calculations (e.g., interest rates, escrow)
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
