    The Quality Assurance Manager at Mary Mack’s is responsible for company-wide quality, safety, and compliance. This person plays a critical role to ensure efficient programs are in place, assessed, and improved while promoting the purpose, vision, & fundamentals of the company.

    Core Responsibilities

    • Responsible for all aspects of food regulatory duties within Mary Mack’s such as Food Safety Modernization Act and serve as the SQF Practitioner
    • Oversee SQF, FSMS, HACCP, and GMP programs and ensure compliance
    • Communicate and manage product safety and regulation requirements
    • Work with third-party consultants
    • Maintain the various Quality Assurance files, including internal audits, supplier assessment documentation
    • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures to uphold AQLs
    • Handles compliance with regulatory standards, systems, processes and standard operating procedures
    • Ensure products are produced to conform with company safety guidelines
    • Work with third-party domestic and international testing and product inspection firms to ensure standards are met
    • Conduct internal audits and coordinate recall/market withdrawal activities
    • Prep, in conjunction with other departments, when necessary, for regulatory audits and 3rd party audits
    • Review all product related artwork to ensure it meets local food regulations and internal requirements
    • Partner with Operations and R&D to review customer complaints. Troubleshoot and identify root causes of complaints and implement corrective actions
    • Conduct product testing and review product defects and submit for defect analysis
    • Assess and approve raw material suppliers. Confirm suppliers adhere to all legal requirements and documentation is up-to-date (SQF certifications, Proposition 65, ETL, etc.)
    • Conduct regular compliance meetings and training programs
    • Assist management with all third-party and government agency audits

    Qualifications

    The following attributes are desired:

    • Experience in quality assurance or quality control
    • Experience in an FDA regulated food environment
    • Knowledge of beverage production
    • Experience in product testing, inspection, and/or regulation
    • PCQI training
    • Prior experience developing standard operating procedures
    • Prior experience with NetSuite

    Education and/or Experience

    Bachelor’s Degree; OR

    Associate’s Degree or High School diploma with a minimum 3 years of experience in a related field.
