Requirements & Preferred Qualifications
- 2 or 4 Year College Degree Preferred
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- 5 Years of Mortgage Underwriting Experience
- Prior experience in Investor and/or Lender Quality Audit
- Working knowledge of Investor Guidelines including, but not limited to, FannieMae, FreddieMac, FHA, VA, USDA
- Ability to work well independently, in a fast-paced environment
- Strong desire to learn and begin a long term career with the right company
Position Responsibilities
- Ensuring that loans are of investment quality, were underwritten according to investor guidelines, contain no material misrepresentations, and comply with all applicable federal and state laws;
- Review documentation in loan files for completeness and accuracy;
- Ensure that loan program guidelines are met;
- Validate the existence of the borrower’s employer and the employment of the borrower;
- Validate borrower debts and assets, undisclosed property ownership, social security number, and credit report;
- Ensure that no misrepresentations occur on loan files;
- Verify that all loan conditions are satisfied, that all “red flags” have been addressed and/or resolved;
- Confirm that all parties have been checked against exclusionary lists;
- Other duties as assigned.
