Position Overview

The Curator is a non-registered graduate with 3-5 years experience. The Curator maintains the design intent and client desires from the beginning of the project (Concept/SD) through the entire project process. Responsible for advancing the design information, the DD/CD phases and conducting the 360 design review meetings with the project team throughout the process under the direction of the Chief Design Officer maintaining the brand of Baker Barrios.

Essential Job Functions

1. Production 
   1. Prepare images, materials, and design collateral for client design meetings. 
   2. Attend client meetings with practice leader and designers.
   3. Take notes on design direction, programming, materials, aesthetic direction and publish meeting summary for project meeting attendees.
   4. Responsible for transferring SD Revit model, maintaining model integrity, and coordinating the consultant and BBA models.
   5. Update model and complete design for components as project process advances.
   6. Participate in weekly project team meetings. 
   7. Supports the Chief Design Officer and Project Manager in the development of design and detailing; researching materials and alternate design solutions, as directed by the Chief Design Officer and Project Manager.
   8. Collaborate with BIM manager and design technologies lead to review Revit model integrity. 
   9. Foster a collaborative culture in project team.
2. Project development 
   1. Maintain the project design aesthetic vernacular throughout the entire project development process (SD, DD, CD, and CPS). 
   2. Work with consultant team on Revit model updates, coordinating model and materials, ensuring the model and electronic media plot/ print consistent with BBA and industry standards. 
   3. Research project alternatives in concert with the Chief Design Officer and PM/PA.
   4. Schedule 360 Design Reviews with Project Team/ Chief Design Officer at the milestone set forth in schedule 50% DD, 100% DD, 25% CD, 50% CD, 90% CD Reviews.
   5. Participate in scheduled progress design meetings at benchmarks established by PM and project team.

1.  Authorization (Upon assignment, the following list will be reviewed by the PIC, Practice Leader, PM and amended, as appropriate)

1. Client relationships – participate in client meetings, foster relationship and strengthen ties with client’s team.
2. Work with Project Admin and PM on scheduled team meetings for attendees and required materials and collateral for meeting
3. Keep the project design foundation intact, advocating for the project design and protecting the BBA design brand. 
4. Monitor Curator’s budgeted hours and productivity to ensure financial goals are met.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Other Characteristics

• 3-5 years of professional experience. (Complete the BBA Training Program)
• Participate in CEU opportunities and professional development
• Develop understanding of design/ design theory
• Develop understanding of construction methods, materials, and project process

• Strong knowledge of Enscape, Revit and experience using the software
• Knowledge of rendering software, Adobe Suite, and computational design software are highly recommended
