    The main responsibility for this position will be managing, analyzing and reporting data from replicated testing and nurseries to support the Beck’s hybrid/variety development and advancement process. Additional responsibilities include building hybrid/variety tests in PRISM and/or other software. This person will be responsible for the integrity of the data bases utilized in Beck’s Research Program.

    Responsibilities

    • Build hybrid/variety tests in PRISM and/or other software
      • Receive entry lists from breeders and other originators and enter into software
      • Generate field maps and entry lists
      • Make substitutions for hybrids/varieties that are unavailable
    • Enter planting changes/errors into the computer data base
    • Assist in data collection process by ensuring product team members have the tools they need to collect data.
    • Ensure accurate data-entry for data collected during the growing season and during harvest
      • May involve manual data entry and/or transfer of data from hand-held collection devices
    • Managing data entry into STATS Program of hybrid/variety performance from University/Independent Testing and Beck’s replicated testing
    • Work on data entry, proofreading, publication, verification of products and other items associated with farmer plots and their entry into STATS program
    • Running product comparisons in multiple databases for the Product Selection Team
    • Data analysis
      • Conduct appropriate analysis of data using PRISM and/or other software
      • Data reporting
      • Report data to breeding and product development teams to support hybrid/variety advancement decisions
    • Perform other related duties as may be required by the Product Lead

    Job Requirements

    1 Education and training:

    • BA/BS degree
    • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and insurable driving record as determined by Beck’s automobile insurance policy.

    2. Technical knowledge:

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Strong database and spreadsheet skills
    • Understanding of replicated testing procedures utilized in hybrid/variety development programs including basic experimental design and analysis.
    • Ability to establish priorities, work independently, work as a team member and proceed with objectives without supervision

    3. Experience:

    • Experience in manipulating large amounts of data in databases and/or spreadsheets
