Saddle River Day School, a co-ed, independent, K-12 school, located in Saddle River, New Jersey is seeking a Network/Systems Administrator. We are looking for someone who can see the big picture and assist with long-term planning, while still able to assist teachers and students with daily needs. Top-notch interpersonal skills are an absolute necessity.
Saddle River seeks a professional who is innovative, organized and analytic. The school is looking to maintain a strong infrastructure to support a lot of new integration ideas, digital art, music and video, mobile devices and much more. This is a great opportunity to have the freedom to design tools that help students learn in innovative ways. The preferred candidate will have experience in independent schools or another academic setting. This is a 12 month position which reports to the Director of Technology.
Primary duties include:
- Organize and maintain the infrastructure of the school network
- Direct long-term planning for network hardware, software, wiring and peripherals, assist in making decisions about equipment purchases
- Provide technical support for faculty, administrators, students and sometimes parents
- Manage inventory/deployment of hardware and software
- Apply software installations and updates
- Manage network backup and security
- Assist with help desk support, classroom-based technology including desktops, laptops, iPads, SmartBoards, projectors, and other peripheral devices in a computing environment
- Administration of network user accounts, email accounts
- Develop and maintain working relationships with vendors
- Lead with maintenance of campus security network
Requirements:
- BA in a related field with Macintosh and Windows server experience (3 years’ in Mac/Windows Servers environment)
- Network, Hardware and Software: Basic TCP/IP networking, including DHCP, DNS and TCP/IP addressing and subnets, at both a client and server level; Basic firewall concepts and management, Barracuda Web Filter, Active Directory
- Wireless networking, security and connections
- Experience supporting SMART Boards, projectors, iPads, digital cameras, printers, and AV equipment.
- A detail-oriented approach to work and outstanding communication skills
