Position Overview

As a Senior Cloud Network Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, configuring, and maintaining network infrastructure in cloud and service provider environments. You will work with the Aunalytics cloud platform and infrastructure to ensure high availability, scalability, and security of network services. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the organization's cloud-based applications and services.  This position does require up to three days per week in office at either our South Bend, IN or Kalamazoo, Michigan office.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Network Design and Architecture:

• Design and implement network architecture in cloud environments, ensuring scalability and performance
• Develop and maintain network diagrams and documentation

Cloud Integration:

• Collaborate with cloud architects and administrators to integrate network services with cloud platforms
• Implement networking solutions for virtual machines, containers, and applications

Network Configuration:

• Configure and manage network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and VPNs
• Optimize network configurations for cost-efficiency and high availability

Security:

• Implement security measures and best practices to protect cloud network resources
• Monitor and respond to security incidents and vulnerabilities

Monitoring and Troubleshooting:

• Monitor network performance, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and ensure minimal downtime
• Implement network monitoring tools and solutions

Scalability and Performance:

• Optimize network performance for cloud-based applications and services
• Plan for scalability and adapt to changing traffic patterns

Automation:

• Automate network provisioning and management tasks to improve efficiency
• Use scripting and automation tools for repetitive tasks

Collaboration:

• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including system administrators, developers, and security teams
• Assist in resolving network-related issues affecting cloud applications

Required Skills:

• Bachelor’s or associate degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, is a plus, but not required
• 5 years of experience in network engineering
• Experience with configuring and managing network devices and services in the cloud and or service provider networks
• Hands-on experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting
• Relevant industry certifications, such as Cisco Certified Network Associate and Cisco Certified Network Professional
• Proficiency with routing protocols (EIGRP, OSPF, eBGP, iBGP), Familiarity with Cisco Service provider routers and switches such as ASR903s, ASR1001xs, etc., Familiarity with service provider protocols such as MPLS and BGP VPNv4, Proficiency with Layer 2 protocols to include MST, RPVST, REP, G.8032, and Proficiency and Experience with Cisco DMVPN technologies
• Experience with network automation and scripting (e.g., Python, Ansible)
• Familiarity with SDN (Software-Defined Networking) concepts
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
