    Northeast IT Systems, Inc. is a rapidly growing MSP that provides proactive network management and support services for primarily medical, dental, municipal and professional services firms. We are currently seeking an outgoing technology professional who will join one of our internal service teams in managing 15-20 client networks. The ideal candidate has experience working in a fast-pace MSP environment and is comfortable with a variety of technologies. Communication skills are an absolute must as the candidate will be working closely with owners and managers on a regular basis. Tasks will vary daily based on client requests and the successful candidate is able to easily transition between multiple requests on a routine basis. Competitive salary is based on experience.

    The Network Technician's role is to ensure proper computer operations for multiple business clients to include: identify, troubleshoot and resolve problems encountered by clients utilizing various servers, mainframes, desktop systems, network, internet and other computer technology; troubleshoot and solve local-area network problems; technical support to clients regarding computer hardware and software; install, test, certify and troubleshoot networking cabling systems; install configured network equipment; provide technical expertise to clients regarding optimal set-up for software, hardware and network use; install, configure, monitor and troubleshoot a wide range of network and data communications software and hardware; train users in various software applications and network-related procedures.

    Responsibilities:

    • Evaluate documented resolutions and analyze trends for ways to prevent future problems.
    • Build rapport and elicit problem details from clients.
    • Prioritize and schedule problems. Escalate problems (when required) to the appropriately experienced technician.
    • Record, track, and document the client request problem-solving process, including all successful and unsuccessful decisions made, and actions taken, through to the final resolution.
    • Configure and install Windows workstations and Macintosh operating systems in response to the demands of a client’s network design.
    • Identify, troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software and network-related problems encountered by end-users of the client’s network, the Internet, the mainframe, PCs and Macintoshes and new computer technology.
    • Performs primary network system administration on client network servers as needed.
    • Install, certify and troubleshoot client’s network cabling infrastructure, including a wide variety of local area network equipment and software
    • Apply diagnostic utilities to aid in troubleshooting.
    • Access software updates, drivers, knowledge bases, and frequently asked questions resources on the Internet to aid in problem resolution.
    • Works with vendors to resolve hardware operating system issues; researches and tests possible solutions and implements solutions.
    • Identify and learn appropriate hardware, software, and network applications used by clients and supported by the company.
    • Test fixes to ensure problem has been adequately resolved.
    • Perform post-resolution follow-ups to support client satisfaction.
    • Perform related duties consistent with the scope and intent of the position.

    Position Requirements

    • Must possess and maintain valid driver’s license and sole access to reliable transportation.
    • Associates Degree and 7 years work experience in related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Advanced working knowledge of various computer systems, including local area networks and wide area networks.
    • Principles of information systems design, client/server environments.
    • Principles and practices of networking technologies; thorough understanding of LAN/WAN protocols; theory and practice of LAN/WAN administration.
    • Mastery of desktop operating systems and various software applications.
    • Working knowledge of a range of diagnostic utilities.
    • Good understanding of the company's goals and objectives.
    • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
    • Exceptional interpersonal skills focused on rapport-building, listening, and questioning skills.
    • Strong documentation skills.
    • Ability to conduct research into a wide range of computing issues as required.
    • Ability to absorb and retain information quickly.
    • Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language.

    Work Conditions

    • Sitting for extended periods of time.
    • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, power tools, and to handle other computer components.

    • Periodic travel to customer sites as required (up to 100 miles daily,) as required.
