Network Engineer develops and deploys plans and designs of network systems that will meet an organization's requirements for performance, security, and compliance with relevant standards and regulations. Conducts network architecture design, feasibility, and cost studies. Being a Network Engineer defines monitoring, maintenance, expansion, contingency, and recovery plans and strategies to ensure the network is responsive to changes in demand. Troubleshoots network issues and develops appropriate solutions, resources, and deployment processes. Additionally, Network Engineer keeps informed of the latest technologies to enhance knowledge of networking hardware, software, and best practices. May be certified in vendor-specific products. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Network Engineer work is closely managed.     KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS/TECHNOLOGY USED
    Industry-related experience as a Senior Network Engineer
    Solid background in network administration and architecture
    In-depth understanding of communication protocols (mainly TCP/IP) and routing protocols (e.g. BGP, OSPF)
    Knowledge of application transport and network infrastructure protocols.
    Ability to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices, including wireless access points, firewall, routers, switches, controllers.
    Ability to create accurate network diagrams and documentation for design and planning network communication systems.
    Familiarity with access control models and network security
    Solid understanding of network infrastructure, network hardware and network operating systems
    Advanced knowledge of network operating systems including Cisco, JUNOS, and IOS.
    Knowledge of networking hardware including CPUs, wiring, and routers.
    Familiarity with communication and routing protocols.
    Proficiency with coding languages including Python and Perl.
    Dependable and flexible when necessary.
    Network security experience.
    LAN and WAN experience.
    Description:
    Leads technical activities necessary to design, support and operate a high volume, dynamic, enterprise class network. Designs, administers, installs, maintains, and supports all aspects of the company's network hardware including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless, and monitoring software in an enterprise class network. Develops and implements information security architecture and technology solutions to address the organization's information security and compliance requirements develops and implements security standards, processes and procedures and guidelines for the enterprise. Reviews existing security architecture identifies design gaps and recommends security enhancements. Architects network systems for enterprise interoperability and performance demands while supporting security standards requirements, adherence to evolving industry best practices, and avoidance of unnecessary technical debt. Responsible for security and integrity of all corporate network systems and data. Ability to present and explain various network infrastructure technologies (LAN/WAN, Data Center Switching, Security, SD-WAN to leadership, guide them through requirements gathering, and formulate a solution consisting of hardware, software, licensing, and engineering services.
    Design and deploy functional networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN)
    Maintaining, administering, Installing and configuring networking hardware.
    Strong understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware with an emphasis in Cisco (routers/switches) and Palo Alto firewall, and Fortinet Wireless.
    Ensures alignment between security architecture frameworks and standards and overall business strategy.
    Lead technical direction in designing and implementing security solutions for corporate technical infrastructure and business applications.
    Researches, designs and implements information security solutions for organization systems and products that comply with all applicable security policies and standards.
    Ability to implement, administer, and trouble shoot network infrastructure devises, including firewall (Palo Alto), routers, switches (Cisco)
    Knowledge of application transport and network infrastructure protocols.
    Works with IT and internal and external business partners to ensure that security is factored in the evaluation, selection, installation and configuration process of hardware and software.
    Analyzes and makes recommendations to improve network, system and application architectures.
    Support independent auditors and security assessment requests.
    Ability to create accurate network & security diagrams and documentation for design and planning network communication systems.
    Ability to quickly learn new or unfamiliar technology and products using documentation and internet resources.
    Complete end-to-end, full lifecycle network designs
    Monitor network performance and integrity
    Resolve issues tiers of support have escalated by troubleshooting cloud and local infrastructure.
    Automate tasks and monitor their effectiveness.
    Mentor team members on technical issues
    Create, oversee and test security measures (e.g., access authentication and disaster recovery)
    Maintain complete technical documentation.
    Suggest improvements to network performance, capacity and scalability.
    Provide network architect to design and implement functional company networks.
    Creating and implementing network security measures.
    Conducting regular network performance tests.
    Drawing up network status reports.
    Performing disaster recovery operations and data backups when required.
    Protecting data, software, and hardware by coordinating, planning and implementing network security measures.
    Replacing faulty network hardware components when required.
    Monitoring network performance to determine if adjustments need to be made.
