Job Summary
This position is a fulltime Exempt (salary) position, supporting the ARNG Mission Command Training Support Program (MCTSP). The Technical Support Team (TST) Network Engineer provides networking support and is responsible for the integration of Tactical networks into the MCTSP exercise network infrastructure operations. Knowledge of Battalion through Division Command Posts to include tentage, generators, configurations and setup/tear down of Command Posts. Prefer Operations Sergeant Majors experience.
Duties:
Responsible for providing operator, instructor, and technical and administrative support necessary to sustain and enhance the effective training of U.S. Army Commanders and their staffs.
Designs, implements, and maintains network configurations.
Provides assistance for all Tactical Hardware including, systems analysis and maintenance, network operations and support, IP management, and network operations and support to include: routine network maintenance and troubleshooting of the training audience’s network environment.
Trains and assists unit staffs in establishing and maintaining unit tactical power and integration of Mission Command Information Systems (MCIS).
Trains and provides technical support to establish command post networks, tactical communications equipment, install, operate, integrate, troubleshoot communications, application configurations, establish network addresses and connections, perform routine maintenance, upgrades as needed, and security updates.
Applies advanced troubleshooting skills necessary to manage MCS and other related system software issues.
Provides IT Technical Support for the MTC and its functional training teams.
Manages MCS and other related systems with IAVAs and updates.
Responsible for TCP/IP networks and protocols. Tracks and reports system/software anomalies that are reported to system developers for corrections.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance and meet other eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Must be able to obtain and maintain CompTIA Security certification.

Required Skills & Certifications
• Eight (8) years related Network Engineering experience.
• Expert knowledge and demonstrated experience in the Command Post Tactical Networking environments.
• Capable of establishing, troubleshooting and maintaining a command post network, LAN/WAN.
• Capable of performing standard IS/IA troubleshooting and configuration.
• Basic understanding of a Joint Network Node (JNN) and Command Post Node (CPN) systems.
• Knowledgeable on the use and operations of Mission Command Networks and systems, voice systems and data systems.
• Significant development experience in two or more of the following technical areas: RF, Hardware, Software, Communications systems, Network, and Infrastructure.
• Must meet DOD 8570.01-M Baseline Computing Environment (CE) Certification Requirements Level II.
• Must meet all IA training and reporting requirements
• Experience working with multi-discipline, geographically dispersed teams.
• Understanding of the RMF Assess and Authorize process and Cyber Security requirements. .
• Strong understanding of the LVCG concepts.
• Written and Oral skills appropriate for the position, including the ability to speak very well in basic professional situations and present technical data in a logical manner.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production database related issues in a timely fashion.
