Network Engineer develops and deploys plans and designs of network systems that will meet an organization's requirements for performance, security, and compliance with relevant standards and regulations. Conducts network architecture design, feasibility, and cost studies. Being a Network Engineer defines monitoring, maintenance, expansion, contingency, and recovery plans and strategies to ensure the network is responsive to changes in demand. Troubleshoots network issues and develops appropriate solutions, resources, and deployment processes. Additionally, Network Engineer keeps informed of the latest technologies to enhance knowledge of networking hardware, software, and best practices. May be certified in vendor-specific products. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Network Engineer work is closely managed.     The Department: The Network department manages, procures, and supports the network and internet traffic of over 12 Leaseweb datacenters facilities around the United States.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for handling network incidents on the US network
    • Pursue a stable and manageable infrastructure
    • Recommend enhancements to network that will improve the quality, performance, security, and reliability of the network
    • Perform maintenance tasks such as back-ups, spares management, documentation, IP address management, etcetera.
    • Incident management (analyze, resolve, report)
    • Provisioning tasks (equipment configuration, test, administration)
    • Create and maintain documentation.
    • Building and Configuring network equipment and connections.

    Requirements:

    • Firm understanding of the hosting industry and data centers
    • 2 to 4 years of related experience
    • A College degree or professional education required
    • CCNA/CCNP (Juniper equivalent) or work experience
    • Excellent communication, social skills and customer-focused
    • Must be a proactive, self-starter with the ability to travel as needed
    • Must qualify to work in the US for any employer, without sponsorship
